Write or photograph for us

Features, interviews, photo essays and short news items for On Our Radar, about the places, people and culture of Southern Africa and the rest of the continent.

First-hand work. You live there, grew up there, or have spent real time there, and you can tell a reader something they would not find on their own. Send us the idea rather than a finished piece. It is easier to shape a story together from the start.

We do not pay contributors yet. We would rather say that here than after you have done the work. What you do get is your name on the story, a short bio, and links to your website and social accounts. We will say so on this page when that changes.

You keep the copyright. We ask for the right to publish your work first online, to keep it on the site, and to share it on SAT Travel’s social accounts with your name on it. Photographers are credited on every picture.

We edit for length and clarity, and you see the changes before anything goes live.
